Copake is located at 42.103°N latitude and 73.55°W longitude within Columbia County, approximately 100 miles north of New York City, 125 miles west of Boston and is part of the Hudson valley. Its population of 3278* lives at an average of 550 feet above sea level in 2185 housing units on 42.1 square miles. 40.96 square miles of that is land separated into 2996 parcels** with an assessed value of $530 million dollars and an estimated market value of $884 million. 2271^ property taxpayers enjoy the town’s 54 miles of roads and 17 acre Memorial Park. 44% of the housing units are owner occupied; 15%, renter occupied; 34% occasionally occupied and 7.8% vacant.
