The terms used at the top of the
columns in the Assessment Roll need
Broad Use Category Description_________________________________________________________ 100 Agricultural - Property used for the production of crops or livestock.
200 Residential - Used for human
habitation. Hotels, motels, apartments are listed in 300 Vacant Land - Property not in use or in temporary use. 400 Commercial - Property used for the sale of goods or services. 500 Recreation and Entertainment - Used by groups for recreation, entertainment or amusement. 600 Community Services - Property used for the well-being of the community: e.g., education, religion, welfare, health facilities, government facilities, protection 700 Industrial - Property used for the production and fabrication of goods, both durable and non-durable. 800 Public Services - Examples are: water, communication, transportation, waste disposal, electric and gas. 900 Wild, forested, conservation lands and public parks Under each of these broad use categories is a much longer list of specific uses. Under Residential (200) are: 210 One family year-round residence 220 Two family year-round residence 230 Three family year-round residence 240 Rural residence with acreage (10 or more acres of land) 250 Estate (At least 5 acres with a luxurious residence and auxiliary buildings.) 260 Seasonal residence (Inadequate insulation-heating for year-round occupancy) 270 Mobile Homes 280 Multi-Purpose/Multi-structure (More than one residence on one parcel; may be a mixture of codes 210, 220, 230 or all one type.) Roll Section Codes 1 Taxable Ordinary, locally taxable property 3 S.O.L. Taxable State Owned Lands 5 Special Franchise Real Property, such as cables, transmission or distribution wires, mains, etc, owned by public utilities and located under, above or upon any public right of way. 6 Utilities Public, private and governmental utilities and railroads without an assessment ceiling 7 Ceiling Railroads All railroad transportation property on which the State Board of Real Property Services has imposed an assessment ceiling. 8 Wholly Exempt Such properties are charities, educational, religious and governmental 9 Omitted or Pro-rated Parcels omitted from prior assessments OR were transferred from previously exempt status
